Update: March
2010 - New website design for the web
address! Registered ecohaustas as a business,
with Graham completing his Resident Building
Certificate and pursuing building design and
drafting work. We installed solar panels and
added a bedroom extension on the 'shed', with a
small deck in front of the windows and a
enclosure of one carport soon. Notice our DIGG
panel with interesting article links relating to
sustainability and green building design - the
topics vary, but it's more about learning about
different ideas and keeping up on new ideas and
innovations! Enjoy. Summer was great – now Autumn
begins!
G'day! Welcome to ecohaus.tasmania
Welcome to our website journaling the building of our eco-friendly and sustainable property in Franklin, Tasmania, Australia (click for a quick trip). The goals are to build a "zero -energy" residence, develop sustainable living systems, gather and share green building technologies and just have some fun along the journey. After spending 2 years volunteering on various straw bale projects (Airstream Travels) in the USA, Graham and Troy decided to make roots in Franklin, Tasmania and practice lessons we learned through our travels. Please enjoy our website!

Innovative
design - I found this interesting home designed in Chile, I
believe, with straw bale construction with a
twist! It seems to be built with sandwiched
"laser-lite" or polyurethane corrugated
sheets. The website in spanish I think...
Something to think about. AATA Architects
